Great news for reality TV enthusiasts! The popular series, Beauty and the Geek, is set to make a comeback in the UK. Hosted by Matt Edmondson and Mollie King, this eight-episode reboot promises to be an exciting journey of self-discovery, unexpected connections, and maybe even love.

A Journey of Self-Discovery and Love

Produced by Banijay label Initial, this rejuvenated series will follow newly-formed couples as they embark on a transformative adventure. Along the way, they will face challenges designed to reveal that there is more to them than meets the eye. Each episode will see couples eliminated until one lucky pair is crowned the winner, walking away with a whopping £50,000 cash prize.

Originally airing on Fox in the US back in 2005, Beauty and the Geek quickly gained international popularity. It has since been adapted in over 20 markets around the world. Now, the UK audience can finally join in on the excitement.

When asked about hosting the UK reboot, Matt Edmondson expressed his surprise at being chosen, saying, "I get that I am a natural beauty, but I've never really thought of her as a 'geek'". Nevertheless, he is thrilled to be a part of the show and believes that Beauty and the Geek has the power to bring people together and challenge preconceived notions. As the saying goes, "you can never judge a book by its cover."

Mollie King, who considers herself a hopeless romantic, shares Matt's enthusiasm for the show. She can't wait to help the couples navigate this adventure, and who knows, sparks might fly in the process. Her ultimate goal is for everyone to be seen and appreciated for who they truly are on the inside.

Exciting Additions to Discovery UK

Discover+ in the UK is set to launch Beauty and the Geek later this year alongside another new reality TV show, tentatively titled Zodiac Island. This unique dating format will feature three leading astrologers matching up 12 cynical singletons in search of true love. Clare Laycock, SVP and Head of Entertainment at Discovery UK, promises an engaging and unconventional twist on the traditional dating show.
