I have always been fascinated by fashion trends and the excitement they bring for a new season. As someone with a background in apparel merchandising, it's no surprise that I have a deep passion for all things fashion. And when it comes to my personal style, I prefer to stick with the classics. So, in this article, I want to share with you the best shoe trends for the upcoming fall season of 2023. Feel free to comment and let me know which styles you'll be rocking this fall!

Fall Shoe Trends for 2023: Ballet Flats

Best fall 2023 shoe trends loafers One style that I've been a fan of for years is ballet flats. And I'm thrilled to see that they are officially trending this fall. My go-to classic style is the demi flats from Margaux. They are versatile and can be paired with jeans, dresses, or skirts. If you're looking for affordable options, J.Crew factory and Everlane have some great styles as well. And for those who value comfort, Blondo has recently released memory foam cushion ballet flats in two colors. Trust me, they're worth every penny!

An updated take on the ballet flat trend is the Mary Janes style. I personally own a pair from Madewell that has quickly become a reader favorite. If you're looking to add a touch of elegance to your outfit, Margaux has a new Mary Jane style on my wishlist.

Fall Shoes for 2023: Pop of Color Red

Red is one of the hottest colors for fall this year, and I absolutely love it. Incorporating a pop of red into your outfit, whether it's through a dress, coat, or even red gloves, can make a bold statement. But if you're not comfortable wearing red clothing, why not opt for red shoes? They are a simple yet trendy way to embrace the color trend this fall.

Fall Boot Trends: Knee Boots

knee high blondos fall trends 2023 Knee boots are making a splash in various styles this fall. Whether it's the classic to-the-knee boots or the daring over-the-knee/thigh-high boots, you'll find a style that suits your taste. Personally, I've been wearing a pair of knee-high boots from Blondo for years. They are not only affordable but also waterproof and durable. Last year in Paris, knee boots in classic black dominated the fashion scene, and I predict this trend will continue for seasons to come. So, investing in a good quality pair of boots is definitely a wise choice.

Fall Shoe Trends for 2023: Loafers

loafers-sezane-fall-shoe-trends-683x1024 One of the biggest shoe trends this season is loafers. Although I was initially unsure about this trend, I have now fully embraced it and love wearing loafers with jeans and dresses. Personally, I prefer to pair them with no-show socks rather than ankle socks. If you're looking for a stylish yet affordable pair, Sam Edelman offers loafers under $200.

Best Fall Shoe Trends: Block Heel

block-heel-Katie-Babies-Sezane-1-683x1024 Block heels are one of my personal favorites and a trend that I own myself. For instance, my Katie Babies from Sézane are not only stylish but also incredibly comfortable. They are perfect for exploring the streets of Paris for a few hours. Block heels come in different heel height options, allowing you to choose what feels most comfortable for you. I highly recommend trying out the round-toe block heel shoes from Tuckernuck.

Other Footwear Trends for Fall

If you're not a fan of high heels, the kitten heel is a great option for a stylish yet comfortable shoe. Ankle boots with a kitten heel are particularly popular this fall.

On the other hand, Western boots are making a big statement this season, although it's a trend I personally haven't fully embraced yet. Cowboy boots can be found in various retailers, including Sézane.

Before I wrap up, I'd like to share a little secret with you. Keeping an eye on styles in Paris always gives me a glimpse into what will hit the US fashion scene a year later. So, stay tuned for my favorite fall fashion trends when I return home in October.
